Materials define our products and their impact. Made in Old Town is home to the United States’ largest open materials library for footwear and apparel. The materials library will feature an unparalleled collection of next-generation, performance, and foundational materials. This is the place for inspiration and for action.
Members of Made in Old Town will be able to reserve space in the library to showcase their materials for brands to evaluate and incorporate into their new product innovation. In that way, the library is a perfect complement to the sample floor, where innovators will be using new materials to create fully functional shoes and garments.
The library occupies 10,000 square ft in the Tower, right at the center of campus, adjacent to the sample floor and testing lab, providing brands and manufacturers easy access to a broad rotating array of over 4,000 materials for product development.
Through a partnership with OIA Global, Made in Old Town is bringing world-class access to the materials and suppliers that our brands rely on for product creation and innovation.
How do you get involved? Apply for a business membership, and indicate in your application that you are seeking a space in the materials library, including the amount of space you need and/or the number of materials you plan to showcase. The Made in Old Town team will follow up to better understand your offering. Available while space lasts.
Materials display and storage is available by the linear foot, with members of Made in Old Town provided the first two linear feet included in the cost of membership. Members can apply for up to 5 or 10 linear additional feet on an annual basis and choose which materials to display and when to rotate accordingly. A minimum quantity of each material stock is required when displayed in the Materials Library.
A library at this size and scale, adjacent to a full service sample floor and testing lab, will help drive new innovations, accelerate development timelines, and develop deeper relationships between suppliers and brands.
